"Eddie" is a adorable HIV positive boy who will soon be turning 3. He is described as both stubborn and joyful, which is such a wonderful way to describe this bright toddler!
There are many HIV positive orphans waiting for forever families in India and so many resources and services available in the United States to support them. Please pray with us that “Eddie” would soon find a family who could provide him with a home, love, education and medical care that he needs to thrive.
Please note that this is a shared referral. Contact our India staff at India@awaa.org for more information about making "Eddie" a part of your family!

This year is off to a busy start in the China Waiting Child Program! In January, America World received 17 referrals and continue to anticipate many children’s files to be ready in the coming weeks.
We are excited to share that 20 files from one of our orphanage partnerships are in process and we anticipate to receive these file in the next few weeks or less. The group includes 13 boys and 7 girls, ages 12 months- 5 ½ years with a wide variety of medical needs.
We will not know the full scope of each child’s medical needs until we have the complete files and are able to fully review their paperwork including their full medical files. Families not currently in the process of adopting with America World, but are interested in adoption should fill out a quick free PRE-APPLICATION and our Intake staff will follow up with you regarding your eligibility to pursue an adoption from China.
For those interested in adopting a boy, now is a great time to consider a boy of any age from China as our wait times are at an all-time low for families open to boys with needs commonly seen in China. We continue to match our families open to boys very quickly and currently it is an average of 10-18 months from starting your process to arriving back home with your son! The current timeframe at AWAA for girls, based on commonly seen medical needs, is 10-24 months on average from starting the process to coming home with your daughter. (based on a 6 month average dossier building timeframe). Families who are currently in our China waiting child program are given first priority for matching before we advocate for any children.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting from China and not taken that next step, now is a great time to consider adopting a boy or girl through our Waiting Child Program. Any questions can be directed to our China staff at email@example.com or call our staff at 800-429-3369. Please let us know if we can help with any questions about the adoption process.
We look forward to receiving these children’s files in the coming weeks and seeing God’s plan unfold in each of their lives!

We’d like to highlight 5 boys from China who are still waiting for a family. Shaefer, Cody, Jared, Jason, and Dominic are precious little boys from one of our orphanage partnerships in China whose files are available to review.
Shaefer is an 8-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but received surgery for partial stripping of the left carotid artery on October 24, 2012 and recovered well. He is receiving rehabilitation. His caretakers describe him as active, ready to smile, and outgoing!
Cody is a 7½ year-old boy who has been diagnosed with epilepsy and increased muscular tension of limbs. His file also notes that he has suspected cerebral palsy. He cannot walk alone, but can sit and stand while holding onto something. He has delayed language ability, but has normal hearing and can understand basic communication.
Jared is a 9½ year-old boy who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and delayed development. He has delayed language ability, but has normal hearing and can communicate through sign language. His file notes that he enjoys playing with other kids and he is very nurturing and will often comfort the younger children when they cry.
Jason is a 9 year-old boy who likes music and loves playing with other kids. He has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He also has delayed physical and mental development. Jason received surgery on October 29, 2012 (Lumbar Intervertebra) and recovered well. He continues to receive general rehabilitation treatment.
Dominic is a 6 year-old boy who can count numbers and likes to sing children's songs. He has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and club feet. He received treatment in a rehabilitation hospital from 9/13/12 to 11/22/12, and continues to receive rehabilitation in the orphanage. After consistent rehabilitation treatment, he can now walk alone, but has poor balance.
Current America World families who are interested in reviewing a child’s file should contact their Family Coordinator if interested in further information. Families not currently in the process of adopting with America World should fill out a quick free PRE-APPLICATION and our Intake staff will follow up with you right away regarding the opportunity to review a child’s file.
You can also view other children who are waiting by visiting our website and clicking HERE. Most often, children with minor/repairable medical needs and/or very young children do not appear as often on waiting child listings as they are generally matched directly (when their files arrive) with families already in our China program & who are requesting those particular medical needs. Many young/minor medical needs children are designated by China to be matched only with families who have their paperwork already submitted to China.
Any questions about any Waiting Child can be directed to our China staff at firstname.lastname@example.org or 800-429-3369. Please let us know if we can help with any questions about the adoption process!
